Ambiance Series

(2022-2023)

The Ambiance Series was 4 ambient music events spanning an entire cycle of “seasons” as we know them in the classic European, Japanese or American sense. The event series was curated by Bona Obiri-Yeboah. Each event tasked artists to extrapolate what that particular season meant to them, and what sound-worlds they felt best encapsulated that season.

Slow Humidity
(2022-2025)

Slow Humidity began as an ode to the American South. Moved by Chopped and Screwed, Phonk, Memphis Rap and more, I sought to create a space where these sounds could be experienced in a long-form live setting. This was powerful within the context of so-called Brisbane, as nothing like it had really been done up until that point. Slow Humidity would take that same steamy, humid energy from the American South, but instead project it to the Equator. The second instalment would bring together various ways of knowing and sound, from countries that straddle the Equator.
